How would you like
to double or triple the effectiveness of any divination you receive? I'm
sure your answer is " yes." But I'm equally sure that you are going to
have to cast off a whole bunch of baggage before you can do it. But, it
can be done!
Let's start with
what you are doing wrong:
1. You go
to the Babalawo or priest seeking to put them in charge of your Destiny
While it is true
that a competent Babalawo with good character (sometimes not easy to find)
has been trained, and initiated, so that he or she can access the energy
and knowledge the Universe possesses, and equally has been trained to
identify the triangulation (ebbo.sacrifice) necessary to implement or
adjust that energy for your well-being, it is equally true that this is
only half of the equation. Because this is where most people leave it,
in the hands of the Babalawo, they are getting only half (or less) of
the results they could have!
2. You believe,
whether you are aware of it or not, that the ebbo or sacrifice will magically
take care of the issues.
This comes from
your being raised in a Christian/Judaic society where any spiritual activities
were considered separate from your temporal, or everyday, existence. So,
if you seek a non-traditional (by Western standards) solution to your
problems, you automatically assume that the responsibility, and control,
are the sole province on the Priest.when, in truth, it is equally yours!
In our culture, where we live with an ever-increasing group of specialists,
we have increasingly given up control of our Destiny to other authority
figures. For example, you go to the Doctor, and it would NEVER occur to
most of us to question their reasoning, even to insist on fuller explanations.
We automatically follow their dictums because they are the authority.
The reality that there may be a host of alternatives, some better, some
less costly, some less invasive, never occurs to us. Both the Church and
the Culture have trained us to rely on others.
The Yoruba world-view
was (make no mistake, the current cultural setting and social and
political situation in Nigeria does NOT reflect this) of personal empowerment!
It was based upon the Partnership between your temporal and spiritual
self, not the abrogation of one to the other! The Yoruba understood that
we MUST use both areas of our energy in concert with each other, not in
opposition. And because of this, your results from divination will double
if you take responsibility yourself!
The simple truth
is that if the babalawo correctly tells you to offer honey to Yemonja,
which will only take care of part of the issue. For the entire issue is
your entire self.both temporally and spiritually.
What You Need To Do Correctly:
So, if you want
to double, or triple, your results, you have to participate in the message
that the universe is giving you. Let me give you an example. Several weeks
ago, in my own reading, the Universe brought me an odu of great intensity
on the temporal and spiritual side of my energy matrix. It also indicated
that I was likely to be off-path in this energy with a strong indication
it would have to do with relationships. That indication was also one of
great intensity. The ebbo called for Shea Butter to Obatala. BUT, that
didn't end the process. While that alone might well have mitigated the
potential relationship issues, I understood that the universe was telling
me what to expect, and HOW I needed to react to it. It was telling me
that not only might I be faced with high intensity feelings from others,
but that my own high intensity feelings could lead to trouble. So, I CONCIOUSLY
forced myself to examine, and step-back from those circumstances over
the next few days (A Babalawo reads themselves every fifth day). When
my wife, or kids said something that I normally might have reacted to
in a firmer fashion, I said to myself" hold on Phil, this is NOT a time
for confrontation. Cool it! Let it pass" Because of this awareness, along
with the ebbo to Obatala, the period went calmly and peacefully for me.
When you receive
a reading, examine the energy.see what the Universe is telling you. Be
aware that besides maintaining balance, or restoring it, your job is to
actively partner with the Universe in using your character, discipline
and effort to fulfill the Destiny you selected. That requires implanting
the energies as they are revealed. It also involves finding a Babalawo
who deals in energies rather that Stories or Pataki.
If you do, your
life will unfold more powerfully than you ever believed possible. Remember,
the ebbo is only half of the process
